Shipping policy
Thank you for shopping with PowerSpot™. This Shipping Policy explains how we process, dispatch and deliver orders placed through our online store.
This policy must be read together with our Terms and Conditions, Return and Refund Policy and Privacy Policy.
Nothing in this Shipping Policy limits any rights that a consumer may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 or any other applicable South African law.
1. Delivery Area
PowerSpot™ currently delivers to valid physical addresses within South Africa.
We do not deliver to PO boxes.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their delivery address is complete, accurate and accessible to the courier.
Delivery to certain remote, rural or high-risk areas may take longer or may require alternative delivery arrangements.
2. Courier Service
Orders are delivered using Aramex Store-to-Door or another suitable courier service selected by PowerSpot™ where necessary.
PowerSpot™ reserves the right to use an alternative courier where reasonably required due to availability, operational requirements, service disruptions or the customer’s delivery location.
3. Estimated Delivery Period
Our estimated delivery period is 8–11 business days after the order has been successfully processed and dispatched.
Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding South African public holidays.
The 8–11-business-day period is an estimate and not a guaranteed delivery date unless PowerSpot™ has expressly confirmed a specific delivery date in writing.
Delivery times may vary depending on:
- The customer’s location;
- Courier capacity;
- Remote or outlying delivery areas;
- Public holidays and peak shopping periods;
- Weather conditions;
- Strikes, protests or road closures;
- Security restrictions;
- Incorrect or incomplete delivery information;
- Customs or supplier delays, where applicable; and
- Other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of PowerSpot™.
4. Order Processing
Orders will only be processed after payment has been successfully received and verified.
Orders placed over weekends or on South African public holidays will be processed from the next business day.
PowerSpot™ may contact the customer to verify order, payment or delivery information before dispatching an order.
Any processing period shown during checkout must be added to the estimated courier delivery period unless the website expressly states that the delivery estimate already includes processing.
5. Dispatch and Tracking
Once an order has been dispatched, the customer may receive a dispatch confirmation and tracking information by email, SMS or another available communication method.
Tracking information may take up to 24 hours after dispatch to reflect movement on the courier’s system.
A tracking update that has temporarily stopped does not necessarily mean that the parcel has been lost.
Customers should monitor their tracking information and ensure that someone is available at the delivery address to receive the order.
6. Courier Delays
PowerSpot™ will take reasonable steps to ensure that orders are dispatched and delivered within the estimated delivery period.
However, PowerSpot™ cannot guarantee the performance, routes, schedules or delivery times of independent courier service providers.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PowerSpot™ will not be liable for reasonable delays caused by Aramex or another courier, weather, load shedding, strikes, civil unrest, road closures, natural disasters, system outages, supplier disruptions or any other circumstances outside PowerSpot™’s reasonable control.
Where a delay occurs, PowerSpot™ will provide reasonable assistance by contacting or following up with the courier where appropriate.
This clause does not exclude PowerSpot™’s responsibility to fulfil the order or any right the customer may have to cancel an order, request redelivery or receive a refund where required by South African law.
7. Incorrect or Incomplete Addresses
Customers must provide a complete and correct delivery address, including:
- Street name and number;
- Complex, estate, unit or building number, where applicable;
- Suburb;
- City or town;
- Province;
- Postal code;
- Recipient’s full name;
- Working contact number; and
- Any delivery instructions reasonably required to access the property.
PowerSpot™ will not be responsible for delays, failed deliveries or additional courier charges resulting from incorrect, incomplete or inaccessible delivery information supplied by the customer.
Where a parcel is returned to PowerSpot™ because of an incorrect address, failed delivery or inability to contact the customer, the customer may be required to pay a reasonable additional delivery fee before the parcel is resent.
Any such charge will not apply where the failed delivery resulted from an error by PowerSpot™ or its courier.
8. Changes to Delivery Addresses
Customers must request an address change before the order is dispatched.
Once an order has been handed to the courier, PowerSpot™ cannot guarantee that the delivery address can be changed.
Courier redirection fees may apply. The customer will be responsible for reasonable redirection fees where the address change was requested by the customer or resulted from incorrect information supplied by the customer.
9. Delivery Attempts
The courier may contact the customer before or during delivery.
Customers must ensure that:
- The contact number provided is correct and active;
- Someone is available to receive the parcel;
- The delivery location is reasonably safe and accessible; and
- Any required access codes or entry instructions are supplied.
Where delivery cannot be completed, the courier may attempt redelivery or return the parcel to PowerSpot™.
Additional delivery charges may apply where delivery failed because no one was available, the customer could not be contacted, access was refused or the customer supplied incorrect delivery information.
10. Acceptance of Delivery
The customer, or another person present at the delivery address, may accept the parcel on the customer’s behalf.
A signature, delivery photograph, one-time PIN, courier scan or other proof recorded by the courier may be used as evidence of delivery.
Customers should inspect the parcel as soon as reasonably possible after receiving it.
Accepting the parcel from the courier does not remove the customer’s legal rights regarding incorrect, damaged or defective products.
11. Authority to Leave Parcels
Where a customer asks the courier to leave a parcel unattended, at a gate, with security, with a neighbour or in another nominated location, the customer accepts the reasonable risk associated with that instruction.
PowerSpot™ will not be liable for theft, loss or damage occurring after the parcel has been left in accordance with the customer’s express delivery instruction, except to the extent that liability cannot legally be excluded.
Customers should not request unattended delivery where the location is unsafe.
12. Damaged Parcels
Where possible, customers should note visible damage with the courier before accepting the parcel.
Customers must notify PowerSpot™ as soon as reasonably possible if:
- The parcel arrives damaged;
- The product inside is damaged;
- Items are missing; or
- The incorrect product was delivered.
The notification should include:
- The customer’s order number;
- Photographs of the outer courier packaging;
- Photographs of the shipping label;
- Photographs or video of the damaged or incorrect product; and
- A description of the problem.
Customers should retain all packaging until the matter has been investigated.
Failure to report visible damage immediately does not remove any statutory rights, but sufficient evidence may be required to investigate the claim.
13. Lost Parcels
A parcel will not automatically be considered lost merely because tracking has not updated or delivery is delayed.
PowerSpot™ must first be given a reasonable opportunity to investigate the parcel with the courier.
If the courier confirms that the parcel has been lost before delivery, PowerSpot™ will, subject to stock availability and applicable law:
- Replace the order;
- Resend the affected product; or
- Refund the amount paid for the affected product.
The customer will not be charged an additional delivery fee where the parcel was lost before valid delivery.
14. Orders Marked as Delivered
Where tracking shows that an order was delivered but the customer cannot locate it, the customer must:
- Check with household members, reception, neighbours or security personnel;
- Inspect entrances and any safe-place delivery locations;
- Confirm that the delivery address supplied was correct; and
- Contact PowerSpot™ promptly so that a courier investigation can be requested.
PowerSpot™ will assess the courier’s delivery records, which may include a signature, delivery scan, GPS information, photograph, recipient name or one-time PIN verification.
PowerSpot™ will not be liable where the evidence reasonably shows that the parcel was correctly delivered or released according to the customer’s instructions, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
15. Product Availability
All orders are subject to product availability.
If PowerSpot™ cannot fulfil an order because the product is unavailable, we will notify the customer as soon as reasonably possible and provide the remedies required by South African law.
PowerSpot™ may offer the customer:
- A refund;
- A suitable alternative product, with the customer’s agreement; or
- The option to wait for new stock.
A substitute product will not be supplied without the customer’s agreement.
16. Multiple-Item Orders
Products included in the same order may occasionally be dispatched separately.
Where an order is divided into multiple shipments, the customer may receive more than one tracking number and the parcels may arrive at different times.
The customer will not be charged additional shipping fees solely because PowerSpot™ divided an order into separate shipments, unless otherwise agreed before dispatch.
17. Delivery Fees
Applicable delivery fees will be displayed during checkout before payment is completed.
Delivery fees may vary depending on the destination, parcel size, promotional offer or delivery method.
Any free-delivery promotion may be subject to stated minimum purchase requirements, delivery areas, dates or other reasonable conditions.
18. Customer Delays and Unclaimed Parcels
Where a parcel is returned because the customer repeatedly failed to accept delivery, could not be contacted, refused delivery without lawful justification or supplied incorrect information, PowerSpot™ may recover reasonable additional courier or handling costs before redelivery.
Where the customer no longer wants the order, any refund will be dealt with under our Return and Refund Policy and applicable South African law.
PowerSpot™ will not charge penalties or unreasonable fees.
19. Events Beyond Our Reasonable Control
PowerSpot™ will not be regarded as having breached this policy where performance is temporarily prevented or delayed by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, fires, floods, epidemics, strikes, civil unrest, government restrictions, courier network interruptions, telecommunications failures or widespread power outages.
PowerSpot™ will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect of such an event and resume fulfilment as soon as reasonably possible.
This provision does not remove any cancellation, refund or other rights that a customer may have under applicable law.
20. Statutory Delivery Rights
PowerSpot™ aims to fulfil orders within the agreed delivery period.
Where PowerSpot™ fails to fulfil an online order within the agreed period, the customer may have the right to cancel the order by providing the notice required under applicable South African law.
Where cancellation or a refund is legally required, PowerSpot™ will process the refund within the legally prescribed period.
Nothing in this Shipping Policy is intended to waive, exclude or restrict any non-excludable consumer right.
